Collect Signatures for Matt Castelli

The Schoharie County Democrats will be knocking on doors in Middleburgh and Schoharie on Sunday, May 29, to help the community understand a complex political situation, and to campaign for candidate Matt Castelli (Democratic Congressional Candidate for NY-21), before gathering at Wayward Lane Brewery in Schoharie.
Chair Theresa Heary states, “The political situation is very complicated. We have just been moved into a new district, our sitting congressional representative was appointed lieutenant governor and there are going to be a number of primaries and elections in the next few months. It is our job to get into the community and share information with people.”
The canvassers will be collecting signatures for candidate Matt Castelli to get on the “Moderate line” for NY-21, the new congressional district that includes Schoharie and much of the North County, and is currently represented by Rep. Elise Stefanik.
Matt Castelli is a former CIA officer and Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council who served in both the Obama and Trump White Houses. He lives in Saratoga County and is running as a Democrat to defeat Elise Stefanik and represent the people of New York’s 21st Congressional District.
At 10 AM, May 29, volunteers will meet on the patio of the Green Wolf Tap Room, 329 Main St., Middleburgh. Canvassers will be trained in door-to-door canvassing and provided with all of the materials that they will need to explain the complicated situation to their neighbors. After knocking on doors for a few hours, they will reconvene at the Wayward Lane Brewery, 255 Ward Ln. in Schoharie.
Door-to-door canvassing has been consistently found to be one of the most effective ways to motivate people to vote. Canvassing is easy and fun, and one of the best ways to make a difference politically.
