Have you voted yet? The NYS presidential primary is Tuesday, April 2. Be sure to get to the polls! LATE BREAKING NEWS: AS OF 4/3/2024

Votes weigh more than polls.

NYS PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY RESULTS: According to today's 4/3/2024 Times Union: Biden won 92.5% of 279,690 voting Dems in NYS, while Trump won 82.1% of 131,612 voting Republicans. Haley (R) won nearly 13% of GOP votes and Williamson (D) just shy of 5% of the Dem votes.

Overall in Schoharie County: Biden won 356/405 votes cast (87.9%); and Trump won 524/637 votes cast (82.3%). As a fellow SCDC member pointed out, Haley voters are more likely to turn to Biden than the Williamson voters are to turn towards Trump.

FDR Banquet May 14, 2024:

Schoharie Democrats will be hosting the NYS Comptroller, Tom DiNapoli for our FDR Banquet on May 14, 2024 at Chieftains in Cobleskill. Buy your tickets now, click here.

The Comptroller makes every other agency work better. The comptroller’s office fights waste, fraud and abuse in government and pursues officials who abuse their public positions or steal money from taxpayers.

His office does things like:

-Create an early warning system that identifies local governments and school districts in fiscal distress,

- Establish programs to protect children from harassment and discrimination and monitor special education providers, and

-Create a website to help you check for unclaimed funds. (Try it! I found a bank account from my teenage years that I forgot about.)

He also manages the NYS pension system.

The Democratic Committee is made up of people just like you. We work to amplify democratic voices and causes in our beautiful county. As we approach the elections, we will help you more fully participate in our democracy.

The committee members are almost done collecting signatures to get candidates on the ballot. We will let you know soon who our candidates will be.
