You’ve got to see this guy.
He is clearly a trained CIA agent. He knows his position, and he is going to stick to it.
The Stefanik campaign has been sending spies to all of his events, to try to capture video of him saying something that will offend moderates or Republicans, but they can’t do it. He has studied why Tedra Cobb lost to Stefanik, and he is the person who can win.
Then there is Elise. Is there a more worthy villain? She has voted against:
-Our freedom to choose how and when to have a family.
-Vets and Seniors.
-The Police. According to the National Association of Police Organizations, Stefanik voted with its legislative priorities just 57 percent of the time. That's the lowest percentage among New York's House of Representatives delegation — even lower than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (71 percent).
You are invited to meet Matt Castelli at the Town Hall on October 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Jeff Tufano Gallery, 548 E Main St, Cobleskill, NY.
In Solidarity,

CASTELLI TOWN HALL
JEFF TUFANO GALLERY, 548 E. MAIN ST., COBLESKILL, NY
OCTOBER 5 TOWN HALL WITH MATT CASTELLI
Meet the Moderate and Democratic candidate for US Congress, District 21 at 5:30-6:30 pm on Wednesday October 5, 2022. Claiming the “middle majority” needs a representative in Congress, Matt Castelli emphasizes that “we need a government that does what it is good at - security, roads, bridges, strengthening communities.” He supports more funding for police with additional mental health services in communities; strong border security with an all-out push to reform our immigration laws; improvements in access and affordability for healthcare and mental health care especially for veterans and elders.
Castelli will take questions and discuss his ideas for how to balance policies that are pro-worker and pro-business; take a pro-farm approach to reducing red tape while reining in the flood of imported products; encourage pro-growth developments like rural broadband while asking the ultra-wealthy and big corporations to pay their fair share of taxes. His commitment to personal rights includes gun ownership, control over one’s own body, and an individual’s rights to love who they love and be who they are. His slogan of “Country over Party” includes his strong stand towards protecting voting rights and religious freedoms.

VOTE EARLY OCT 29-NOV 6 OR IN PERSON NOV 8
New Congressional District & Shifting Perspectives
Schoharie County, Now the Southern Tip of The North Country
S. Meredith
We, in Schoharie County, were at a turning point, electing Pat Ryan for Antonio Delgado’s vacant seat through December, and choosing Matt Castelli as our candidate for the November 8th election for the District 21 congressional seat. The recent redistricting will change our representation in Congress and force a shift in orientation for us. Once part of District 19, with fellow voters in Kingston, as of January 2023, we will be part of District 21 with fellow voters in Plattsburgh.
We do not have to shift from the community-oriented ways of Antonio Delgado, who held a record number of town halls even via phone during the worst of COVID, spoke at the Middleburgh fire station, and turned up at our Democratic Committee barbeque. Elise Stefanik, the current representative in District 21, doesn’t know us here in Schoharie County. She hasn’t been working to expand our broadband services, to support our struggling restaurants and farms, to shore up health insurance coverage and services, or to protect people’s health choices whether for medical marijuana, for reproductive services or veterans’ clinics. What she has done is attach her goals to the Republican national leadership and to the false claims about fraud in the 2020 election. Her votes have not supported consumers, nor those seeking affordable housing, nor those making difficult decisions about staying on the family farm with transitions to solar and wind. Her politics seek to cast doubt about our democracy and undermine our faith in each other, trying to paint differences of opinions as irreconcilable.
We have a choice in Schoharie County. We know what we want and can make the choice to align ourselves with community, friendship, caring services and a brighter economic future in our new district. Make sure your independent minded friends vote in the November 8th election. Early voting is 10/29-11/6. Voting early is in-person voting and the votes are counted immediately. Schoharie is a county of small towns and villages nestled into a beautiful rural landscape. To me, it matters that our kids are getting balanced information in school, that local businesses large and small get assistance in providing good health insurance for all services and easier paperwork for applications to state and federal programs; that generational and new farmers can attend classes online with high speed connections, women and their families have rights to choose their health care with their medical professionals, and local craftspeople can easily offer their products to the world. Wouldn’t it be great to see our congressional representative help pull us together rather than work to tear us apart?
Voters in Schoharie County are not extremists, we are primarily pragmatic moderates. We believe in democracy, common sense, family and fairness, in laws that apply to everyone equally, rights for personal decisions about health care, and in a clean energy future. Money for infrastructure projects, incentives for clean energy jobs and American manufacturing, for family farms have come from positive common-sense vision and legislation drafted, championed and passed by Democrats, which Stefanik has voted against. Let’s do all we can to get Castelli to Congress. Sign up to call your neighbors, to knock on doors, using this link.
If you need information about where to vote, how to register (by OCT 14), or to apply for an absentee ballot (application postmarked by OCT 24) for the November 8th election find it on: https://www4.schohariecounty-ny.gov/departments/elections/

FAIRNESS ON THE STATE SUPREME COURT IS IN YOUR HANDS
VOTE FOR 3 DEMOCRATS Heidi Cochrane, Sharon Graff, and Meagan Galligan for the New York Supreme Court!
|
SCDC urges you to vote for these three Democratic candidates for New York State Supreme Court. There are three openings so vote for all three Democrats.
Heidi Cochrane has been a trial attorney for sixteen years in diverse practice areas, including civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense. Since 2018, Sharon Graff has been the principal court attorney working in the third district with the Honorable Julian D. Schreibman, J.S.C. In 2020, Meagan Galligan became the first woman to head the Office of the Sullivan County District Attorney as acting district attorney, which was soon followed by her election as Sullivan County's first female district attorney.
According to an August 17, 2022 article in Politico, “Since the U.S. Supreme Court said in 2019 that the federal judiciary had no role in policing partisan gerrymandering, state Supreme Courts have increasingly weighed in — often throwing out Republican-drawn maps in states like Pennsylvania and North Carolina, but also dealing big blows to Democrats in New York.” With Republicans taking the attitude that “Redistricting is the tip of the spear for our [judicial] strategy,” it is of the utmost importance that we elect experienced Democratic jurists with fairness and justice at the core of their legal practices.
For more information about these judicial candidates see: Heidi Cochrane for Supreme Court, Sharon Graff for NY State Supreme Court, Meagan Galligan

TOWN HAPPENINGS:
11/8/2022
Wright: Town Board Election. It is unusual for town board elections to occur during even numbered years. Due to a recent resignation from the board, the Town of Wright will decide between two candidates to complete a one-year term. Democrats support Rae Jean Teeter, a longtime resident of the town. She and her family raise sheep and donkeys. She is passionate about history and supports the Gallupville House. Rae is easy to approach and is a good listener. She has great experience and skill to offer the board.

DEMS OF SCHOHARIE COUNTY ENERGIZED
Every two years, the Schoharie County Democratic Committee reorganizes its leadership among its members, who are regular citizens nominated by a petitioning process to represent the Towns and Villages of Schoharie County. These folk were officially elected by Democratic voters in the statewide June primaries. We volunteer our time and energy to encourage voter participation, raise awareness of policy choices, push for targeted, inclusive and just distribution of services and resources.
At the recent biennial organizational meeting, Democratic Town Representatives from around the county stepped up for leadership roles in the SCDC. Of course, all county residents are encouraged to participate in the activities of the Committee, serving as community members and volunteers.
