You want Democrats in office to stand up for your values. You care about creating a county that respects people, regardless of their gender identity and race. You want people ready to fight back when MAGA Republicans try to dominate Schoharie’s conversation.
The Schoharie Democrats are raising $4000 in the next 3 weeks so that we can provide our candidates with what they need. That will cover yard signs, campaign materials, postage and social media support. It is an ambitious goal, but with your help, we can meet it, and give our candidates the support they deserve.
Here are some of the people who’ve already contributed:
|
Alanna gives because she wants her future daughter to have control over her body.
|
Greg gives because he believes it is critically important that Democrats are represented up and down the ballot.
|
Jean remembers when she first ran for office in 2010. She had to make her own signs with Sharpies!
|
In Solidarity,
Theresa Heary
Chair of the Schoharie County Democratic Committee

Philip R. Skowfoe, Jr., Incumbent, Candidate for Supervisor, Town of Fulton
A lifelong resident of Fulton, Phil Skowfoe describes himself as a family man, disabled veteran, life member of the VFW, and member of the American Legion. Phil is grateful to have been able to provide 26 years of consistent service to the community as Supervisor and seeks to continue doing this work. He is very appreciative of his wife and her continued support. He admits it would be challenging to spend the countless hours working to provide quality services for the town and county unaided. Phil is thankful for his family and everyone in the community that has supported and participated in this wonderful venture.
A fiscal conservative, with understanding and priority for providing the town with much needed repairs, equipment, and updating, Phil Skowfoe is open minded, respectful, and a good listener who stays calm when finding solutions. Skowfoe has solid working relationships with government officials, enabling smooth and consistent functioning for the Town within the system of County and State. This includes experience with grant acquisitions and disaster relief aid. As residents of Fulton know, Phil listens and responds with respect and fairness. He would be honored to continue to serve his community.

Nicholas Elder, Candidate for Supervisor, Town of Cobleskill
Hello! I’m Nicholas Elder. I'm a college student at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the Public Health, graduating in the fall semester of 2023. I’ve lived here in Cobleskill ever since I started school, though I did stay long enough in Oregon for their taste in pizza to rub off on me. I plan on staying here in Cobleskill until I’m forced out - one way or another - so I feel pretty confident in saying that I’ve got the town’s best interests at heart.
I may not have the experience - this will be my first time ever running for any office - but I do have an all-encompassing stubbornness that won’t let me back down from the responsibilities I’ve chosen to try and take on. Doing what I believe is right no matter what anyone else says is my best quality, and I hope I can put it to good use!

My promise to you is to continue to grow our local economy with family sustaining jobs. One of my goals to make this happen is to reduce local taxes.
